Home Care Assistance Success Stories
We certainly appreciate your company’s outstanding service. Rhonda was the one of the most professional persons I’ve ever encountered. Can’t praise her enough. Of course, Lorraine was magical. Thanks so from the bottom of our hearts for your help.
“Our family has been very pleased with the service provided to us by Home Care Assistance. We had a lovely and caring person who not only provided services like light house keeping and meal preparation, but was also a much-needed listener and companion.”

“I just wanted to let you know what a joy and help it has been to have Home Care Assistance involved with the care of my mother, age 90, over the last couple of years.
The two different caregivers have made her life easier in many ways. They not only helped her with otherwise difficult tasks, but did so in a way that she felt they were also her friends. They were always professional and willing to help in any way needed. They have shopped for her and with her, and taken her to the senior center nearby for exercises and some socialization. My mother is very hard of hearing, but the caregivers were always patient with her and helped her understand when she could not follow conversations. They were especially helpful with meal planning, and she enjoyed sharing lunchtimes with them as well!
The staff at Home Care Assistance were always extremely helpful as well. Whenever I had a question or concern they were available to take my call and promptly resolve issues. Our schedule changed weekly depending on my mother’s needs, and the staff was always understanding, friendly, and more than willing to make last minute changes. Susan and Scott were the two people I had the most contact with at Home Care Assistance, and both were always willing to go above and beyond to help me! Susan visited at our home to assess mom’s condition and always knew what to say to put my mother at ease.”

“My mother has been under the care of Home Care Assistance of San Antonio for the past 18 months. Over five years ago a hemorrhagic stroke left her with no sensation on her dominant left side, limited mobility and a greater fall risk. She came to San Antonio from Boise, ID after my father died in November of 2013; this was of course, another significant loss. The caregivers provided by HCA have been a tremendous help. Considering we have help 6 days week, we have had only a handful of providers over the past 18 months, and we appreciate the attempts to keep Moms care consistent. She has been especially blessed by Mrs. Delores. Mrs Delores is compassionate, humorous, patient, and so conscientious in leaving bathrooms and kitchens cleaner than she finds them. She sings with my extremely hard of hearing mother. Mrs. Delores leaves me notes with all relevant observations, as do all the providers. Each assigned HCA provider has shown flexibility; experience in compassionate caregiving. Further accommodations have recently been realized as my mother’s summer residence (for 2 1 /2 months) will be changed to my sister’s home. HCA is coming with us and we are grateful.”

“Dear Susan, Jack and her many Caregivers,
All of our family wants to thank each of you for the loving care that you gave to our Mother, Ruby Herrington. In such a short period of time she went from independent living to needing 24 hour care. When my sister and I could not be with her, you all stepped in and not only took care of her needs, but became true friends. We cannot thank you enough.
We think of you so often and know that you are still a part of our lives and hearts.”
— With much gratitude, Joni, Sheryl & Family, San Antonio, TX
“My sincere thanks to you and your staff at Home Care Assistance for coming to my 11th hour rescue back in May. Your Caregiver helped me shower daily, made my bed, prepared meals and did some food shopping, light cleaning and the laundry. She was a gem, always on time, and her manner and demeanor exhibited her many years of experience as an expert Caregiver. She was dependable, calm, caring and trust worthy. I also enjoyed her lovely sense of humor. I also salute you for your flexibility in making the effort to accommodate a prospective client at the “last minute,” as well as your reasonable cost for the excellent care received.”

“My wife Carol had a hard two-year struggle with incurable cancer, declining steadily until life was hardly more than a pin-hole. The last year I arranged for a caretaker for weekdays, and had help from my daughters, but in the final month they needed help as well and I was no longer able to handle weekends and nights. We contacted Home Care Assistance, who provided round-the-clock attendants. I cannot really find the words to say how wonderful they were: highly competent, comforting and caring, endlessly patient and reassuring. They became family friends. Carol passed away – thankfully, in peace – clutching in her hand a little soft animal that one of the attendants had given her. It was symbolic of the relationship that had developed. I cannot praise and thank them enough.”

“Home Care Assistance raises exactly the right banner in promoting The Balanced Care Method as the foundation for all good care. In the rush of medical care systems that focus almost exclusively on problems, The Balanced Care Method encourages an approach which emphasizes creating strengths. For centuries we have known that better health in aging is tied to physical, emotional, social, and spiritual factors. Regardless of diseases, building on these basics of good health matters.
But beyond creating strengths for elders, families that emphasize Balanced Care will come to work together and understand more clearly how to cope with medical problems and illnesses. The secret is in the strength of the foundation of care. The rest then comes into clearer perspective; complex situations and decision-making during this time of life are better understood and engaged. Home Care Assistance is about foundation-building-for elders, families, supportive friends and, ultimately, for your health care team.”
